Welcome to my blog, "Wyoming High Life."

The purpose of this blog is to promote the great state of Wyoming. It truly is the "high life" as the lowest point (3099 feet) in the state is in Crook County in the northeast corner of the state and the highest point is 13,804 (Gannet Peak) in Fremont County (part of the Wind River Range). Wyoming has the second highest state average elevation, following only Colorado. Another great thing is that about half the state is public land!

The state has a lot of things going for it. The economy is doing fairly well compared to the rest of the country. We are rich in minerals to include coal, natural gas, and now maybe a new oil find in SE Wyoming.

Wyoming has no corporate or personal income tax. Property taxes are lower than most states. 

Unlike Alaska, another mineral rich state which gives its residents an annual stipend, Wyoming offers the Hathaway Scholarship. The state of Wyoming has established a generous scholarship program in the name of former Wyoming Governor Stan Hathaway that rewards eligible Wyoming students with scholarship money to attend the University of Wyoming or a Wyoming community college. The program provides merit- and need-based awards to eligible students.
